Cookie Policy
Prextige is a peer-to-peer rental marketplace operated by Anuvyx S.A.S., a company incorporated under Colombian law. We use cookies, pixels, web beacons, and other similar technologies (collectively, "Cookies") to recognize your browser or device, provide essential features, and improve your experience on our website and mobile app (collectively, the "Platform"). This Cookie Policy ("Policy") explains what Cookies we use, why we use them, and the choices available to you.
This Policy complements our Privacy Policy, which provides more details about the personal data we collect and how we process it. By continuing to use the Platform, you consent to our use of Cookies as described in this Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognize your browser or device and store certain information about your preferences or actions over time.
There are two main types of cookies used on the Platform:
- Session cookies: Temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser. They are used to maintain your state during a single visit — for example, keeping you logged in as you navigate between pages.
- Persistent cookies: Cookies that remain on your device after you close your browser, until they expire or you delete them. They are used to remember your preferences and recognize you on return visits.
2. Why Prextige Uses Cookies
We use Cookies for the following purposes:
- Recognizing you when you sign in so we can display your account, listings, rentals, and personalized content.
- Keeping track of your specified preferences, such as language, theme (light/dark mode), and locale settings.
- Maintaining the state of your activity on the Platform, including items you have viewed, search filters you have applied, and any rental in progress.
- Conducting research and diagnostics to improve our content, features, and services.
- Preventing fraudulent activity and improving the security of the Platform.
- Measuring and analyzing the performance and effectiveness of our Platform, including identifying pages with errors or high exit rates.
- Delivering content relevant to your interests, including personalized listing recommendations.
If you block or delete our strictly necessary cookies, you may not be able to log in, add items to a rental request, or use other core features of the Platform.
3. Types of Cookies We Use
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Platform to function and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to actions you take, such as logging in, setting your language preference, or filling out a rental request. Without these cookies, services you have asked for cannot be provided.
3.2 Functional Cookies
These cookies allow the Platform to remember choices you have made and provide enhanced, more personalized features. For example, they may remember your display theme preference (light or dark mode), your selected locale or currency, and whether you have previously dismissed certain banners or notifications. Disabling functional cookies may mean certain preferences need to be set again each visit.
3.3 Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Platform. They collect aggregated information about pages visited, features used, time spent, and navigation paths. We use this data solely to improve the Platform. Where possible, analytics data is pseudonymized or aggregated so it does not directly identify you.
3.4 Authentication Cookie
When you sign in, we set a single secure, HTTP-only cookie named __prextige_anuvyx_token on your device. This cookie stores your session token so you remain authenticated as you navigate the Platform. It is marked HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Lax, meaning it cannot be read by JavaScript and is only transmitted over HTTPS. It is deleted when you sign out.
4. Local Storage and Session Storage
In addition to the authentication cookie described above, the Platform uses your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage to store data locally on your device. Unlike cookies, this data is never transmitted to our servers automatically — it stays on your device and is only read by the Platform while you use it.
- Theme preference (localStorage): Stores your light or dark mode selection so it is preserved across visits.
- Cart contents (localStorage): Stores the items in your rental request so they are not lost if you navigate away before completing your booking.
- Product and rental drafts (localStorage): Temporarily caches product listing data and in-progress rental review drafts to avoid data loss during form completion.
- Scroll position (sessionStorage): Preserves your scroll position within the current browsing session when navigating between pages, cleared automatically when you close the tab.
- Session cache (sessionStorage): Temporarily caches your authentication session data within the current browser session to reduce unnecessary network requests, cleared automatically when you close the tab.
You can clear localStorage and sessionStorage at any time through your browser's developer tools or by clearing your browser's site data. Doing so will not affect your account data stored on our servers, but you may need to re-select preferences such as your theme.
5. Pixels, Web Beacons, and Similar Technologies
In addition to cookies, we may use pixels, web beacons, and similar technologies. These use small fragments of code to embed invisible images in web pages or emails. Unlike cookies, they do not store a file on your device; instead, they send information directly to our servers when a page or email is opened or when a specific action is taken.
We use these technologies to confirm whether an email has been opened, to measure engagement with in-platform content, and to determine whether a specific action — such as completing a booking or clicking a promotional link — has occurred. This helps us measure the effectiveness of our communications and improve the Platform.
6. Server Logs and Other Technologies
We also collect information through server logs and other automated mechanisms. Our servers automatically record certain information each time you access the Platform, including your IP address, browser type and language, the date and time of your visit, the pages and resources you request, and any error codes generated during your session.
This information helps us diagnose technical problems, analyze traffic patterns, detect and prevent abuse, and ensure the reliability and security of the Platform. Server log data is stored for a limited period and then deleted or anonymized.
7. Third-Party Technologies
We currently use one third-party analytics service on the Platform:
- Vercel Analytics — provided by Vercel Inc. (vercel.com). This service collects aggregated, privacy-friendly usage data such as page views, referrer information, and device type to help us understand how the Platform is used. Vercel Analytics is designed to work without setting persistent tracking cookies. For more information, see Vercel's Analytics Privacy Policy.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising networks, or behavioral retargeting technologies. Our fonts are self-hosted and do not generate requests to Google's servers from your browser. If we add any new third-party technologies in the future, we will update this Policy and, where required by law, seek your consent before deploying them.
8. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
8.1 Browser Settings
You can manage browser cookies through your browser's settings. The "Help" or "Settings" section of most browsers explains how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to be notified when you receive a new cookie, and how to disable or delete existing cookies. Check your browser's support documentation for specific instructions.
Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will significantly impair your ability to use the Platform — including logging in, completing a rental request, and saving your preferences. If you block all cookies, some features and services may not function as expected, and you may need to reset your preferences manually on each visit.
8.2 Mobile Device Settings
If you access the Platform through a mobile device, you may be able to control certain data collection through your device's operating system settings. For iOS devices, you can manage location services and app tracking permissions from the Privacy & Security section of your device settings. For Android devices, you can manage location settings and reset your mobile advertising ID from your device's Privacy settings. Please refer to your device manufacturer's instructions for more information.
8.3 Opt-Out of Vercel Analytics
Vercel Analytics respects the browser's Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. If your browser has either of these signals enabled, Vercel Analytics will not collect data about your visit. You can enable these signals in your browser's privacy settings. Opting out of analytics does not affect the authentication cookie required to keep you signed in.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use, legal requirements, or our business practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the bottom of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through a prominent notice on the Platform or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
